Outside Agency Funding

For years, the City of Fairmont has included allocations for community agencies and causes in its annual budget. The City allocates approximately $100,000 each year to this cause, but the process for awarding these funds was less regimented.

For the 2026-27 fiscal year, the City is implementing an application form that all agencies that wish to receive outside agency funding must complete.

THE DEADLINE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE 2026/2027 BUDGET HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JANUARY 28TH AT 4:30 P.M.

All questions related to this application process should be sent to the City's grant administrator, Rene Graves. She can be reached at rgraves@fairmontwv.gov or at 304-366-6211, Ext. 321.

The Application Process

Several steps to the Outside Agency Application Process must be completed by the applying agency:

Step One

Complete the City's Outside Agency Funding application. This form requires several, such as your agency's current budget, your registration documents with the Secretary of State, and any City licensure you may need to operate within city limits.

Step Two

Once your application is submitted, you'll receive an email with further instructions. This step will require the completion of a packet of certifications which need signed and notarized to receive funding from the City of Fairmont.

Click here to download the certification packet.

The City of Fairmont can provide notary services free of charge if necessary. These completed documents can be either hand-delivered to City Hall at 200 Jackson Street on the third floor or scanned and emailed to the City's grant administrator, Rene Graves. She can be reached at rgraves@fairmontwv.gov.

The Review Process

Once submitted, applications are reviewed by the City Manager and the Grant Administrator. The City Manager will then recommend the approved applications for inclusion in the annual budget, which is then ultimately approved and passed by City Council.

Any questions about the process, submissions, or funding should be sent to the City's grant administrator, Rene Graves, at rgraves@fairmontwv.gov. She can also be reached via phone at 304-366-6211, Ext. 321.
